GAETI: DAY 5
Today we began learning about Weebly and webpage design. This online webpage design application is extremely easy to operate for the beginning designer. What is so good about this is that we can develop a page that we can use when we go back to school in the fall.
We also considered the relevant issue of 1:1 and BYOD for our school districts. We discussed the pros and cons of the different initiatives, as well as the effects of each on the educational process. We had a speaker, Nashandra James of Madison County School District, who discussed how rollout of the 1:1 initiative occurred in her district, as well as the problems the district encountered after implementation.
We then worked on our webpage design for some time before Dr. Beriswell installed files on our jump drives. These files are related to web page design and the design standards that we should consider in this process. Dr. B. said it is probably "spinach," but we are excited to learn about design standards! I can see how this would work on my website design.
